Kevin Thomas joined Royal Insurance (now RSA) Leicester in 1978 as an Apprentice. Initially training in both claims and underwriting, he then became a Claims Handler, responsible for property, liability and engineering losses. Kevin joined Ecclesiastical in 1985 as a Commercial Claims’ Negotiator before becoming a Risk Surveyor/Account Manager in 1990, covering the Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire areas. After three years he specialised in surveying church, charity, education and general property risks. In 1999 he became a Regional Survey Manager and then an Operational Survey Manager. Kevin now works in the Central Survey Team, surveying training, quality and Surveyors for key risks including Anglican Cathedrals, Greater Churches and major charities. Kevin is a past President of The Insurance Institute of Bournemouth, an examiner of the Institute of Risk Management International Diploma and is now a committee member of their Charity Special Interest Group. He also sits on the National Police Chiefs Council Metal Theft Working Group. Kevin has recently been appointed as a member of the National Policing Heritage and Cultural Property Crime Working Group.
